GSH Logistics (GSHL) is an e-commerce fulfillment platform with a complete set of features designed to increase the operational efficiency of your online storefront. It includes capabilities for managing inventories, orders, deliveries, returns, and controlling product warehousing. If you are in search for a new order fulfillment service, we’re here to help you make the optimal choice.

Depending on the size of your company, the majority of the order fulfillment process can be completed in a single location, such as a well-organized warehouse, under a single roof. A common practice among small organizations is to fulfill customer orders internally using a straightforward method. Large organizations require a more complex, multi-layer distribution center structure. In each scenario, however, the primary objective is to promptly deliver to the customer exactly what they have requested that is both dependable and cost-effective.

How does it work?

Receiving

To begin fulfilling orders, your fulfillment center must first access your inventory. At the fulfillment center, the term “receiving” refers to the process of accepting and storing newly arrived merchandise.
Every center has procedures for the receipt and warehousing of products, which frequently involve the merchant providing necessary documents. Because of this, everything stays orderly, and on schedule, so your orders can start being shipped out sooner.

Storing Inventory

After you have received the inventory, you will be responsible for organizing and storing the products within your warehouse. Since the process’s speed and accuracy are determined by the organization of your stock, the organization of your stock plays a crucial part in the system that fulfills orders. You need to organize the products following their popularity, with the things expected to sell the most often placed in the area closest to the packing station.

Picking

The first step in the process of fulfilling an order is called “warehouse picking.”
The picking crew is responsible for fulfilling an order once it has been entered into the order fulfillment system at your facility. To get the products ordered from their various storage areas, a selector is given a packing slip that details the items, quantities, and location of the storage areas within the facility.

Packing

After all of the components of an order have been selected, the next step is to pack them away safely.
While some fulfillment centers would charge for the use of their packing materials, others would offer them free of charge as part of their services. Your distribution centers will select the kinds of packaging materials that, in addition to safeguarding your items, will add up to the least amount of three-dimensional weight that is practically possible.

Shipping

After the order has been packaged, it is time to send it for delivery.
Most fulfillment services will purchase shipping labels from the relevant shipping carrier(s) on behalf of the retailer.
While some fulfillment companies have preferred carriers they work with, others evaluate the rates offered by multiple parties and choose the one that offers the best value. The latter helps to ensure that prices for any particular delivery choice are as low as feasible while still meeting all requirements.
